Definitely a farm kid. I grew up outside of Cotesfield, NE

Bachelors from UNL in Landscape Design. Masters from UNL area of Public horticulture. (Kim Todd was my advisor for both degrees). General Horticulture and trees
What year did you make your first appearance on Backyard Farmer?
2009 (can't remember which month)
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Backyard Farmer show?
The panel. Its great to catch up with friends and colleagues, even if its only once a month.
What’s one piece of advice you find yourself giving most often?
3W's for trees- Water, Watch, and Wait. There might not be any sprays we can apply, but we can always follow the 3w's.
What’s the most unusual question you’ve been asked on Backyard Farmer?
What animal makes a sound that is similar to a police siren (wee woo) (took this one on the phone panel one night)
Do you have a favorite plant, tree, flower, disease, bug, or critter — and why?
sideoats grama- scientific name is fun to say Bouteloua curtipendula
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I have an identical twin who works for Nebraska Game and Parks in Scottsbluff.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
Not a Surprise...I love Gardening!
