‘Backyard Farmer’ to Visit the Nebraska State Fair Aug. 31
LINCOLN, Neb. – “Backyard Farmer” will record a live episode at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island on Monday, Aug. 31.
Nebraska Extension and Nebraska Public Media welcomes the public to this free event located in the Raising Nebraska Building, starting with a question-and-answer panel at 5:15 p.m. CT and live recording at 6 p.m. CT.
Join show host Kim Todd, Nebraska Extension landscape horticulture specialist, alongside other professionals to talk about all things related to garden and lawn care, with a focus on growing future gardeners across Nebraska.
The show will feature the Stuhr Museum’s Little Gardeners program, a day-long event that teaches children planting and art techniques, as well as a story about the Bowder family from St. Paul, Neb., their four girls ages 7-14 have a passion for nature. The family grows their own flower and vegetable gardens and learns about the plant life cycle through their 4H programs.
This program will air on television at 7 p.m. CT, Thursday, Sept. 3 on Nebraska Public Media. The show and features will also be available on Backyard Farmer's YouTube channel.
“Backyard Farmer,” the longest-running locally produced television series in the nation, airs on Nebraska Public Media Thursdays at 7 p.m. CT through Sept. 10. It repeats Saturdays at 10 a.m. CT on Nebraska Public Media and at 4 p.m. CT Sundays and 5 p.m. CT Mondays on Create.
