Norway spruce (Picea abies) is a faster-growing, large conifer widely used in windbreaks, screening, and large-scale landscapes. It is easily recognized by its graceful, pendulous branchlets and dark green needles that create a dense, pyramidal form. This species is well adapted to a range of soil conditions and performs best in full sun with adequate moisture, though it becomes moderately drought tolerant once established.
